Funded by FIRST 5 Santa Clara County’s Learning Together Initiative, The Health Trust’s Family Resource Centers provide an environment where children ages 0-5 and their parents and caregivers can learn and grow together. The Health Trust’s Family Resource Centers, operated in partnership with Catholic Charities of Santa Clara County and SJB Child Development Centers, offer free programs and services designed to strengthen families and promote literacy, proper nutrition, physical activity and skills that growing children need to be ready to succeed in kindergarten.

Services include:

School readiness

• Developmental screenings
• Early literacy programs
• Art enrichment
• Support groups for parents and caregivers of infants

Nutrition and wellness

• Family Garden Club
• Zumba classes for adults and children
• Sports skills development
• Oral health education
• Breast feeding support
• Low-cost fresh fruits and vegetables

Parent and family education

• Positive Parenting classes
• Parent assertiveness training
• Financial literacy

Information and community resources

• Health insurance enrollment
• Application assistance for Calfresh (food stamps) and WIC
• Referrals to other community programs and services

Special events

• Potlucks, garden work days, holiday parties, volunteer recognition events
