Design Conference Educates, Motivates

adults and were inspired to promote fitness for older adults, even
centenarians!
Participants received a Compendium of Best
Practices in Physical Activity Programs for Older Adults and were
urged to apply for a Health Trust grant to begin or expand a
physical activity program at their own organization. To download a

Scholarships for
Student Wellness Champions
The Health Trust announced the availability of
Student Wellness Champion scholarships for area high school seniors
who have demonstrated outstanding leadership to promote and improve
the health of their school or community. Students may apply for the
$500 scholarship by visiting www.healthtrust.org/YEAH. Congressman Mike
Honda will present the awards on May 31 at 5:30 pm. For more

Documentary Series, Unnatural Causes...is inequality making us
sick? but missed the community viewing sessions last year,
please join the Diocese of San Jose Deanery 5 for a series of
screenings, lectures and community discussions as part of their
Social Justice Speakers Series, starting April 23. The first free
public event, featuring the episode “In Sickness and in Wealth,”
will be held from 7:00-9:00 PM. at St. Thomas of Canterbury Parish
