Silicon Valley Residents Dine Out, Fight AIDS

Nicole Kohleriter For Immediate Release On Thursday, April 30, 2009, 25 Silicon Valley area restaurants will participate in Dining Out for Life, generously donating 25 percent or more of their night’s food sales to support The Health Trust AIDS Services, the largest non-medical provider of AIDS Services in Santa Clara County. A complete list of participating restaurants is available at www.healthtrust.org/dining. “We are so thrilled to bring this event that has taken place in so many great U.S. cities to Silicon Valley, says Health Trust CEO Frederick J. Ferrer. “I hope the event will allow people to enjoy good food and good company while knowing they are making a difference for people living with HIV and AIDS right here in our community.” The Health Trust AIDS Services operates the largest program in Santa Clara County for individuals and their families with HIV/AIDS, providing case management, housing assistance, food, education and a community center, serving almost 1,000 clients each year. Nationwide, Dining Out for Life has raised almost $4 million each year for local AIDS service providers like The Health Trust. Created in 1991 by an ActionAIDS volunteer in Philadelphia, Dining Out for Life is now held in 55 cities throughout North America.
